Here are my favourite hobbies to help you make friends.
1. Join a fitness class
Find a class that you find interesting or fun like Zumba so that you will go regularly. It needs to be something you look forward to.
2. Join or start a book club
If you like reading then this one is for you. There are also book clubs where you talk about your favourite book so you don’t have to read the same book. Check out your local library.
3. Start a course
Have a look to see what short courses your local college provides. This could be something like cake decorating or learning to sew.

4. Join a walking group
Another great way to add exercise to your friend quest. If the walk requires you to get a coach somewhere then you are paired up from the start.
5. Volunteer
If you have the time then volunteering is a great way to meet people and give back to your community. Have a look at Do It for volunteering positions.
6. Contribute to a forum
If you have start a new hobby at home then join a forum to take to other people about it. It could be crochet, watercolour or bullet journaling; there is a category for everything on reddit.
7. Start Gaming
Find a free online multiplayer game and speak to people through it. Have a look on steam for PC games.

8. Go to a festival
This one is a bit out there but if you love music and the atmosphere of festivals then go make friends.
9. Start playing bingo
Lots of people go to bingo by themselves so this is the perfect opportunity to find a bingo buddy.
10. Join a meet up site or app
Join a friend app like Bumble BFF or Peanut if you’re a mum looking for mum friends. If you’re making plans to go out then it counts as a hobby.
