My Escape From Reality

My hobby, since I was very little, always involved some form of art.

Either writing, music, videos, painting… It needed to have some creativity in it. Why? I have no idea.

I guess that my major hobby is writing. I have published a book, I own my blog (as I mentioned before), I work as a translator…

Yeah, yeah. Lots of fun. But the hobby that I want to talk about is painting and drawing.

I had a tough childhood. I was bullied, hard relationship with relatives, an outcast. Well, I guess you get the idea. I found my escape in art. Even if what I was drawing didn’t make sense, even if it was ugly… that made me feel better. It is a way of relieving all that tension that is bottled up in your head, you know? Even if it doesn’t make sense, it is out of your head. It is not pushing your brain anymore.

What do you need to create some art?

  • Pencil, colors, paints and brushes, etc.
  • Paper, cardboard, a wall…
  • Water
  • Passion
  • Inspiration
  • Motivation

Where should you start?

  1. Get the paper and the utensils to draw.
  2. If you are using paint, make sure to prepare a pot with some water to clean the brush.
  3. Let your hand flow.

There are two ways of doing this:

  1. Copy a picture or a drawing that you love (from an image, pc or even your head).
  2. Close your eyes and let it happen.

Honestly, the second one is more fascinating from my point of view, and always with good music on the background. I feel like nothing can stop me.

Anyway, here you have some drawings that I have done in the past months, I hope you like them:
